The History:
The Sons of Portugal Scholarship was established in 1965 with the primary objective of recognizing and rewarding academic excellence among students of Portuguese descent. Scholarship awards ranging from $1,000.00 to $3,000.00 are given to High School Seniors and College students seeking a bachelors degree in an approved undergraduate program of study.

Applications may be obtained in the Media Center at the Portuguese Cultural Center (currently closed) or at the Guidance Department Offices at all area high schools and trade schools in the greater Danbury area beginning February 1, 2012 due by April 7, 2011 . Scholarship Workshop will take place for those who need help or have questions on March 17^th from 3pm through 5pm at the temporary Portuguese Cultural Center (in the Stop & Shop Plaza on Newtown Rd.)
