Edgar Rodrigo Flores Pazos Exhibition
The following 20th, 21st, & 22nd of September at the
Library of the Portuguese Cultural Center there will be an exhibition of
paintings of the artist Edgar Rodrigo Flores Pazos. We invite all to come and
see his beautiful paintings.
Edgar Rodrigo Flores Pazos was born in Tulcan, Ecuador in 1955. He studied at
the School of Arts at Central University of Ecuador where he specialized in
engraving. He has participated in numerous solo exhibits: at the Center of
Artistic Promotion in Quito, 1975; at the Casa de la Cultura de Carchi, 1991; at
the Casa de la Cultura de Nariño in Columbia, 1995; at La Concepcion Museum in
Cuenca, 1995; at the Museum of Modern Art in Quito, 1995; and at the Madeleine
Holander Museum in Guayaquil, 1996. He has also received numerous awards
including: Second National Prize in Drawing, Third National Prize in Drawing,
Honorable Mention, 1987; and First Honorable Mention in the National Competition
of Painting and Sculpture "Mariano Agyuilera" in Quito, 1990. In
addition, he was selected to participate in the murals program organized by the
Municipal Council of Pichincha in 1982. In 1996, he participated in the Second
Biennial of Arts in Lima, Peru.

do Centro Cultural Português haverá uma exposição de pinturas pelo artista
Sr. Edgar Rodrigo Flores Pazos. Convidamos os senhores e toda a communidade de
ver estas lindas pinturas.
Edgar Rodrigo Flores Pazos nasceu em Tulcan, Ecuador em 1955. Estudou na Escola
de Artes na Universidade Central de Ecuador onde especializou-se na technical de
gravados. Participou em numerossas exibições individuais como exemplo: no
Centro de Promoção Artistica de Quito em 1975; na Casa de Cultura de Carchi em
1991; na Casa de Cultura de Narino em Columbia em 1995; no Museu de Arte Moderna
de Quito em 1995; no Museu "Madeleine Holander"em Guayaquil em 1996.
Entre os prémios recebidos podemos mencionar: O Segunda Prémio Nacional de
Dibujo, o terceiro Prémio Nacional de Dibujoo, Menção Honorária em 1987, e a
Primeira Menção Honorária no Concurso Nacional de Pintura e Esculptura
"Mariano Aguilera"em Quito em 1990. Foi seleccionado para participar
num programa de murais organizado pelo Concelho Municipal de Pichincha em 1982.
Em 1996 participou na Segunda Bienal de Arte de Lima, Peru.
