To the Portuguese Cultural Center’s (PCC) Arts & Entertainment Committee    (A & E). Heading this committee is Maria Zargo, President.  To receive information on upcoming events and to make reservations, please call our A & E “Hotline” at (203) 470-7528 or E-Mail us at StageDoorCT@aol.com. If we are unable to take your call, please leave a clear, detailed message along with your name and phone number.  We will return your call promptly.

The purpose of the A & E Committee is to bring added recreational opportunities to the PCC through a variety of high-caliber performances (the “Arts” portion - which will be known as Stage Door Productions). These will include theatrical, variety, musical (i.e., American and international artists), comedic and amateur talent events,which will be open to the general public.  In addition, the committee intends to periodically sponsor other events (the“Entertainment” portion), catering to PCC members and their guests only, including Super Bowl parties, Karaoke, Bingo, and Trivia game show contests, to name a few.

Please keep yourselves informed on upcoming events by calling the A & E phone number listed above, checking the PCC’s in-house bulletin board, reading your newspaper’s calendar of events or entertainment sections (i.e., The News-Times, Brookfield Journal, Newtown Bee, La Tribuna, etc.), and by listening to radio stations such as WINE-AM and 93.3 – WFAR-FM. 

IMPORTANT!! Are you interested in having some fun? Why not join our exciting, creative entertainment team?  We are looking for a RELIABLE “Volunteer Network.”  Whether it be technical, creative or miscellaneous support (stage crew, lighting, set design, costume design, etc.), call us at the above number. (Please leave a message with your name and number, and we’ll get back to you.)  Volunteers will be needed either on a regular or as-needed basis.  In this committee, everyone’s contribution is equally valued and recognized. 

 Also, if you have singing, dancing, acting, musical or comedic “talent,” with or without previous experience (some experience preferred), we are interested in speaking with you. Talent requirements and audition information will be posted and advertised accordingly, depending on the type of performance we’re featuring.  

Finally, we need PCC members’ and the general public’s support.  Long term, we will not be able to maintain a committee of this caliber if our members and the public do not attend these functions.  So, please keep that in mind.  These functions are for your enjoyment, and we would appreciate your support.
